Reaching Janki Chatti takes most of a day, and the 6 km walk each way needs daylight and energy. A same-day return from Rishikesh usually means a rushed darshan and a very late drive on hill roads. A Barkot halt keeps the trip safer and more comfortable, especially for children and elders.
