- Day 2: leave Barkot early for Janki Chatti. The taxi parks while you trek, or ride pony/palki, to the temple and back, then return to Barkot.
- Day 3: drive from Barkot back to Rishikesh, arriving by evening if the road is clear.
Why not a same-day trip?
Reaching Janki Chatti takes most of a day, and the 6 km walk each way needs daylight and energy. A same-day return from Rishikesh usually means a rushed darshan and a very late drive on hill roads. A Barkot halt keeps the trip safer and more comfortable, especially for children and elders.
